Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better known as Ari Lennox, is an American musician and singer from Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to join J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. In October 2016, Ari Lennox released her EP Pho. This was the moment that she received recognition. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It was released on May 19, 2019. Ari Lennox has been uploading her music since 2012 with her release of her debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. In 2014, she continued to release her music on the web, including her own released single Bound. Sweat It is included on Omen's Elephant Eyes album which dropped on July 21st, 2015. J. Cole asked her to work with him on Rihanna's references. Later in the calendar, her songs circulated all over Dreamville. On the 8th of December she signed with Dreamville Records. She was featured on the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II on the track Backseat with Cozz. In October 2016 she dropped her debut EP, Pho. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as opening The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017, in which she joined by EarthGang. In 2018, Ari Lennox guested on two tracks by EarthGang On Nothing but the Best, and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox's debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on July 16, 2018. The album's first single, Whipped Cream The album's first single, Whipped Cream was released on in September 5th, 2018, accompanied by a a music video. Then, on the 9th of November, she released another two singles, titled 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). Two singles more were released on the 11th of November with the titles Pedigree and One. The singer appeared alongside Cole in the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby, on November 16, and then she released the song as a single by herself to the album she released her debut. The 20th of February, 2019, a music clip was released for the song. It already has nearly 3 million hits on YouTube within its first week. As a supporting act she performed with 6LACK during December 2018 on The From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
